Clannad, jedna z nejúspěšnějších irských kapel, se vrací do Prahy. V rámci úplně posledního turné, na kterém se rozloučí se svými fanoušky, vystoupí 11. května 2020 ve Velké Lucerně. Vstupenky na sezení a stání jsou v rozpětí 990 až 1490 Kč, v prodeji budou od pátku 31. ledna přes Ticketmaster a Ticketportal. Koncert přináší Charmenko.

Clannad mají dlouholetou tradici, tradičními keltskými tóny těší fanoušky již od roku 1970, kdy irskou kapelu založili sourozenci Moya, Ciarán a Pól Brennan a jejich dnes již bohužel zesnulí strýci Noel a Pádraig Duggan. Součástí rodinného klanu Brennanů je také Enya Brennanová, která s Clannad chvíli vystupovala a poté se odebrala na sólovou kariéru. Spojením prvků tradiční irské hudby a soudobého folku s vlivy new age vytváří přímo éterické melodie, díky kterým se jim podařilo oslovit publikum po celém světě napříč všemi věkovými kategoriemi. Clannad získali několik ocenění včetně Grammy, Billboard Music Award či BBC 2 Folk Award za celoživotní úspěch. Mimo to také obdrželi cenu BAFTA v kategorii „Nejlepší originální televizní hudba", kterou složili pro televizní seriál „Robin Of Sherwood".

Clannad spolupracovali s různými umělci, mezi kterými je Bruce Hornsby, Steve Perry, JD Souther, Paul Young či Duke Special. Jejich velkým fanouškem a podporovatelem je Bono z kapely U2, který o Moye Brennanové prohlásil, že „má jeden z největších hlasů, jaký kdy zažil" a se kterým Clannad nazpívali singl „In A Lifetime". Právě tento název ponese antologie mapující jejich obsáhlou kariéru. „In A Lifetime" vychází 13. března 2020 a obsahuje dvě nové písně „Celtic Dream" a „Who Knows (Where The Time Goes)". Pražský koncert proběhne 11. května 2020 v rámci zcela posledního turné: „Už před naším turné v letech 2013 až 2015 jsme diskutovali, zda je naším posledním. A poté, co Pádraig zemřel, jsme se rozhodli, že další turné bude definitivně tím posledním. Chceme, aby bylo velice speciální, a aby bylo zakončením jedné nezapomenutelné cesty. Jsme rádi, že máme současně možnost vydat antologii „In a Lifetime“, která, jak doufáme, zanechá našim fanouškům trvalý hudební odkaz."

Irish band Clannad will perform in Prague for the very last time

January 28th 2020, Prague – Clannad, one of the most successful Irish bands ever, is coming back to Prague. Last show will take place on May 11th 2020 at Velky sal Lucerna as a part of their farewell tour. Tickets are both seated and standing in a price range between 990 and 1490 czk and go on sale on January 31st via Ticketmaster and Ticketportal. Show is promoted by Charmenko.

 
Irish band Clannad has its tradition since it was formed in 1970 by siblings Moya, Ciarán and Pól Brennan and their uncles Noel and Pádraig Duggan (who sadly passed away in 2016), and for a short time later became a six-piece with the addition of Enya Brennan who then went on to have her own successful solo career. The multi-award winning band have, without doubt, done more than any other group to take Irish music and the Irish language to a worldwide audience. Fusing elements of traditional Irish music and more contemporary folk, new age and rock they have created a beautifully unique and ethereal sound which combines haunting melodies and mesmerising vocals to transcend the sands of time whilst appealing to a worldwide audience of all ages. In addition to the incredible achievements of this one, timeless song, in 1984 Clannad won a BAFTA for ‘Best Original Television Music’ for their soundtrack ‘Legend’ (becoming the first Irish band to win it), which featured music and songs the band were commissioned to score for the Robin Of Sherwood TV series. In the two decades since the band has won a Grammy Award (‘Best New Age Album’ for 1999’s Landmarks), Billboard Music Award, and a BBC 2 Folk Award (for Lifetime Achievement).

Clannad has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, including Bruce Hornsby, Steve Perry, JD Souther, Paul Young, and Duke Special but their most successful collaboration by far was with enthusiastic supporter and fan, Bono of U2. A fan of the band who declared singer Moya as “one of the greatest voices the human ear as ever experienced,” Bono du-etted with the singer on Clannad’s 1985 hit single – and the song which gives this collection its title – In A Lifetime. IN A LIFETIME is a multi-format, career-spanning anthology containing tracks from Clannad’s 50-year recording career. It contains two brand new singles "Celtic Dream" and "Who Knows (Where The Time Goes)" and it will be released on March 13th 2020. The Prague show will take place on May 11th 2020 as a part of their Farewell Tour: “We had discussed prior to our world tour in 2013-2015, whether it would be our farewell tour...but since Pádraig passed we made the decision that our next tour would definitely be our last and we plan to make it a very special and memorable final journey…and to accompa-ny this journey we are very pleased to be releasing the ’In a Lifetime’ anthology which we hope will leave our fans with a lasting musical legacy.”
